Education Campaign Bangalore south

Education Campaign  Bangalore south Jan/Feb 2016

My second week at the NGO SCEAD Foundation was a very good experience.
We had to do survey in small slums. The areas we covered were:
-       how many children are there in one family
-       are they going to school or not
-       if they are not going to school what is the reason for drop out.
if a child is below 6yrs have they taken polio drops or not

We made a note of all these and submitted it to the foundation, and the nearby schools. The foundation/ schools, then enquire about the reason for dropouts. If the problem is financial then, they try and offer free education. Initially, it was difficult to work in the slums, but as the days went by I found the work very interesting and also satisfying to know that I was working towards children’s education and health issues.Overall, this was a great experience at the internship at the NGO, as such kind of surveys make us realize how far education is important to children.

So I would like to conclude by saying that I have had the best experiences of my life in the past two weeks and I look forward to more great experiences in the days to come which I can cherish all my life.

I feel very blessed that I had an opportunity to work with the NGO,SCEAD Foundation, under guidance of Mr. Daniel. He guided us to many places where people live in slums in Bangalore. We found that many of the children are not educated because of financial problems. I discovered that there are so many organisations which provide free education for the welfare of children who are living in slums. I learned so many things while working with the SCEAD foundation. I learned to give not because I have too much, but because I saw exactly how it feels to have nothing. I will be very excited if I get opportunity to further work with this foundation in providing free medical check up, basic education and engaging in welfare school for teaching etc.

Working in SCEAD Foundation has been very beneficial to us. This internship has helped us to look after the welfare of the society and has brought out the clear reflection of the inequality in society. In the slums we visited we discovered that the children were not getting proper food and were living in unhygienic conditions and this affects the psychology of those young children and thus may ruin their constructive growth.

This internship has been of great help to us and am happy to have been a part of SCEAD Foundation.

. This NGO internship has been very useful for us. I am obliged to have been 'called' to help the poor, the hungry, the thirsty, the hurting, the needy and the broken. Our daily surveys and visiting the slums helped us gather useful information which can be further used for the welfare of the poor and the needy.

The joy that radiated from the kids touched me deeply and I could see how much of a home they had, filled with lots of brothers and sisters.
I am grateful to SCEAD foundation for having provided me this opportunity to serve the poor and help them out and also add to the welfare of the society.

I would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to work under you and for Scead Foundation. It was such a privilege to work under such a noble foundation. Throughout these 12 days I learnt a lot which changed me to be a much better person and a more responsible human being. I came across so many things which I never expected to see. I saw poverty, I saw grief, I saw despair, I saw so much unhappiness. But still those children are smiling and still they hope to do something good with their lives.  It was a great experience and I would like to work further again under this foundation.
Thank you
