10 Years of Impact: SCEAD Foundation’s Work in a Tribal Village in Bandipur, Karnataka, India

For the past 10 years, SCEAD Foundation has been bringing positive change to a tribal village in Bandipur, Karnataka. Their work has helped improve the lives of people through support in livelihood, education, health, hygiene, and agriculture.

1. Supporting Livelihoods 💼

To encourage self-sufficiency and income generation, SCEAD Foundation has taken multiple steps:

  • Provided goats and poultry to help local families start small-scale businesses.

  • Organized skill-building workshops for women, including sanitary pad-making and mosquito net-making sessions.

  • Offered regular financial support and assured product purchases so that villagers have a stable income source and grow their entrepreneurial skills.

2. Hygiene and Sanitation 🚽

Clean water and proper sanitation have been at the core of SCEAD’s interventions:

  • Built toilets in homes and common areas to improve public health.

  • Distributed water filters so every household can have access to safe, clean drinking water — reducing waterborne illnesses and improving overall health.

3. Strengthening Education 📚

SCEAD Foundation strongly believes that education can change futures. They adopted the local school and have:

  • Built extra classrooms to accommodate more students.

  • Provided books, stationery kits, and uniforms to encourage school attendance.

  • Continued mentoring students and engaging with teachers to improve learning outcomes and reduce dropout rates.

4. Medical and Elderly Care 🩺

Health and well-being is prioritized through regular outreach:

  • Free health check-up camps for all age groups are conducted frequently.

  • Mobility aids like walkers and wheelchairs are provided for the elderly and differently-abled villagers.

  • Monthly food supplies and groceries ensure that the most vulnerable — the elderly, widows, and those with disabilities — receive dignified, regular support.

5. Agricultural and Basic Support 🌾

To assist farmers and meet everyday needs, SCEAD also:

  1. Supplies agricultural tools and products

  2. Guides farmers with better techniques

  3. Provides regular essentials to families in need

From education to employment, health to hygiene, SCEAD Foundation has played a vital role in the development of this tribal village. Their long-term commitment continues to create hope and opportunity for everyone.
