AFTER SCHOOL EACH ONE TEACH ONE

Image
AFTER SCHOOL  EACH ONE TEACH ONE JOIN US BE A VOLUNTEER "Each one ,teach one". This line has inspired many and it inspired us that it is our moral responsibility as educated youths to teach children and make a difference in their life. We ( Radhika, Abhinandan and Vijay) volunteered to teach in SCEAD Foundation adopted  school.  It gave us immense satisfaction in sharing our knowledge with the children in the school. We began our interaction with  children in knowing what their ambitions are in life. Further we even spoke about how important is cleanliness and hygiene. To our surprise these children were well aware of the advantages that proper hygiene provides but it was necessary to motivate them to maintain clean surroundings and throw the garbage in the dustbins. It was really good experience and we are sure that our combined effort will definitely make a difference in their lives and motivate them to accomplish their goals.

Education Campaign Bangalore south

Education Campaign  Bangalore south Jan/Feb 2016 My second week at the NGO SCEAD Foundation was a very good experience. We had to do survey in small slums. The areas we covered were: -        how many children are there in one family -        are they going to school or not -        if they are not going to school what is the reason for drop out.        if a child is below 6yrs have they taken polio drops or not We made a note of all these and submitted it to the foundation, and the nearby schools. The foundation/ schools, then enquire about the reason for dropouts. If the problem is financial then, they try and offer free education. Initially, it was difficult to work in the slums, but as the days went by I found the work very interesting and also satisfying to know that I was working towards children’s education and health issues.Overall,...

Michal from Poland

Image
My name is  Michal from Poland  I spent last 2.5 months in Bangalore, working as a volunteer in the SCEAD Foundation. For many reasons this was a very valuable time for me and I am happy that I had the opportunity to come there. First of all, going to different schools, interacting and teaching children was a personal development experience for me, during which both me and children were learning. I found out that teaching can be very enjoyable although at the beginning I was a bit scared of it. Finally, I met very good people and found many friends. I am especially thankful to Daniel, who was my host and with whom I spent almost every day. He was scheduling and planing my work and yoga classes  but also taking me to interesting places and cared about the quality of my Indian experience. Together, we went to wedding  concerts, restaurants, historic buildings and places with beautiful nature . would recommend volunteering in SCEAD to anyone ...

Kristian Anttila - A pop star from Sweden played for orphans in Bangalore

Image
We were happy to invite Kristian and organise his performance in one of the orphanages we support. His show took place on 7th November   and was watched with great enthusiasm by almost 300 children. Kristian played guitar and sang popular songs in Swedish and English. As part of the event, another artist from Sweden - Lisa, created a beautiful drawing in front of the kids. She happily interacted with children by answering their multiple questions and giving a short introduction to what she was doing. SCEAD is thankful to Kristian for accepting our invitation and giving such a great show. For all   children it was the first international music concert and surely an unforgettable experience. and hugs to our friends Ram,Arun, subash,Treeonz Team

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECT CHRIST UNIVERSITY IN ASSOCIATION WITH SCEAD

Image
It was a bright sunny August morning, crisp with the hint of approaching Autumn when I set off for Christ University. Everything was as it had always been. Ordinary. Little did I know that today would turn out to be one of those days, those days that remain etched in your mind for years to come. On the morning of August 31 st , my friends, Zurwan and Sreepa, and I set off to the slums near Gopalan Mall in BTM Layout, Bangalore. We were working in collaboration with SCEAD( Space for Children in Education Art and Development.) SCEAD foundation is all about trying to do their bit to make this world a better place. They have various functional facets such as spreading knowledge and education in rural India, empowering the visually impaired, disabled and underprivileged people and creating an inclusive society which provides equal opportunities for them. We circled around the bustling streets of BTM searching in vain for this place but repeatedly failed in our endeavour. B...
