Michaela, from Czech Republic

Project starts from march  2011 to May 2011

My name is Michaela, I’m from Czech Republic and I came to help in SCEAD foundation for 2 months. I’m passionate about music, sports, I like to work with children and I want to help to change today’s world by having positive impact everywhere I go. That’s why I decided to go for this internship right away.

It’s been 4 days since I started to teach in Patel Government School in Bangalore INDIA . In my music and dance class I teach 20 girls, 8 to 15 years old, and I have to say, that I was surprised how talented my students are. They learn very quickly and so far we’ve done 4 English songs such as My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean or If You’re Happy Clap Your Hands.

In my music class we do rhythm exercises, use variety of vocal techniques, and practice the proper pronunciation of the songs’ lyrics.

In the dance class my students learn different dance styles and choreographies from hip hop, through country dances to classical dances such as waltz. At the end of my stay in this school we’ll prepare a show at which the girls can present their new skills.

So far I loved my experience in this school. It’s been a real pleasure to teach these girls who are thrilled to learn, looking at you with their cute faces and eyes full of happiness and love.
